I dunno. Xnews allows me to kf threads crossposted to X number of
groups. What does your newsreader say about filters in the help
section?

I just have different options to use in 3 different settings.

That's what I figured. As I said, with XanaNews the "bozo bin" and the
filter list are separate. The actual killfile is pretty simple, it's a
one-click deal that kills any messages from a particular email.
Effective most of the time, but not with those that morph their
addresses.

There is also the filter list, with options to filter by Subject, From,
Body, Date, Lines, Header, Crossposts, with options for Matches,
Doesn't Match, etc. That's for when you need more power.

I like the option to filter by the actual crossposted newsgroup name
rather than just number of crossposted groups. Most of the Chung groups
I don't care about.

"Thanksgiving" and "Christmas" in my keyword filter because frankly the
"What are you cooking for...?" threads about those holidaze quickly bore me.
To check any interesting discussions on such topics I just check on Google
(I read and post from there in addition to Earthlink's server)...

MT is a very good newsreader and after reviewing filter settings, it
looks like there is a setting to kill Newsgroups. I'll have to play with
it and see what happens.

Sheesh!

I think I may have found the way to get rid of Chung, etc. I am using
Agent 3.2. I subscriber to 2 of the main newsgroups that they post
to. I have set them as the first ones to have headers downloaded.
Then set crossposting management to not download anything that has
been downloaded to an earlier group. I do not download any bodies in
the two Chung groups. Seems to work.
