I was walking home around that time. Passed several groups of young
folks, from pre-teen up. No trouble at all.
No trouble round me either, lots of people dressed up on the streets,
a peculiar parade of people not dressed up but all carrying balloons
with Crosses on them in New Malden.
I should've got dressed up myself and gone for the halloween run with
my running club, but I'm too lazy these days.

cooking a spicy pumpkin soup at the time, and by the time I made it
to the window to look out, they were next door.
No-one's knocked at my door, I feel quite sad, not that I've got
anything to give anyone, but that was 'cos I knew there'd be no point.

cause trouble.
So, what generation's youth hasn't cocked a snook at the grumpy?
The youth of 1875 during the great snook shortage...
