  1. Can someone please explain why so many of you are still obsessed with the idea that Zone 2 training is a magic bullet for reducing race-day fatigue, when in reality, its just a euphemism for junk miles that fail to adequately prepare you for the anaerobic demands of actual racing?

    Isnt it time to acknowledge that the traditional Zone 2 training model is fundamentally flawed, and that the endless hours spent spinning in the fat-burning zone are actually counterproductive to building the kind of explosive power and speed endurance required to compete at a high level?

    And what about the so-called science behind Zone 2 training, which claims that spending hours in this zone will somehow build endurance and increase lactate threshold? Isnt this just a gross oversimplification of the complex physiological processes that actually occur during exercise?

    And dont even get me started on the whole polarized training thing, which is just a fancy way of saying do a lot of Zone 2 and pretend its going to make you faster. Newsflash: its not.
