Dutchman Maas van Beek (50) will try and better Coppi's old hour record of 45.871 km this Saturday on the track of Alkmaar, Netherlands. In the Tour of 1957 Nicolas Barone rode five stages in a row without sitting on his saddle. Not for charity, but because he suffered from two boils. It's true that he ended five times last, so it's probably not the best way to break a hour record.

Cindy was a little girl who almost was standing on the bike all the time anyway. Moreover she was climbing all the time or descending and not trying to maintain an aero position. No way that he'll make 46 kph.

I'm actually AMAZED that he could do 43 kilometers in an hour without sitting. It just doesn't make sense. I wonder if that was a 10 or 15 minute run and was his average speed.
