Obree has droipped out of the hour record attempt, but Mr Sam Whittingham has set a new one of 83.72km, 52miles!
Not UCI, I'm guessing...

Well done SW, fastest self-powered over an hour as well as 200m flying start (81 mph at Battle Mountain, speed fans!).

IIRC he won the standing start sprint at the Brighton meet in the not hugely distant past on a Bike Friday.

His upright racing is mostly track sprints.
