well when i stayed there a while ago with my family the alexandra was a
very nice hotel and good family atmosphere

You could also tell him/her that even the SQA itself eventually admitted
that this assessment was badly designed, and decided to do something
else instead. Every other college in Scotland seems to have heard this
news. Why is Aberdeen College the only one that still hasn't?

Danny - We get a lot of students who post boring, repetive questions
about walking in Scotland. They do this because they have been told
to by teachers who appear to know very little about the subject they
teach; not because it teaches them anything about newsgroups,
"netiquette" or the Internet in general. That is why your question
got short shrift from SteveO. (SteveO - I hope that's OK?)

Obviously depends what you're looking for, but when my two children were a
little younger, we opted for a family room at the Fort Willian Travel Inn...
Loch Eil I think it's called. If you get a family room on the south side,
you can see Ben Nevis from your window (assuming it's not lost in the
clouds).

Just across the road from Morrisons (formerly Safeway) and a MacDonalds!
It's joined to a Brewer's Fayre public house.

HANDY HINT: take one of those mini fridge cooler thingys to ensure you have
a supply of chilled beverages in your room!

I am Danny's tutor, and it's only fair that I break my silence. I
agree with you that this assessment is flawed and indeed it contradicts
itself- by doing the assessment the students are automatically
breaching netiquette by clogging forums with essentially bogus queries!

This is the first time that we have delivered the assessment here- and
despite my misgivings, I went ahead with it because there was no other
apparent option at the time.

In mitigation, I did ask students to check forums thoroughly in
advance, to make sure they could craft a good, useful, question. I
also advised phrasing the question in a neutral way, in order to not
lead anyone astray. However, as far as I am concerned I will do
everything to ensure we do not have to deliver the assessment in this
form again- I will contact those in charge here and advise them of your
perfectly reasonable objections.

Sorry for the offence caused.
