It's 82 deg F and low humidity in my neck of the
woods, and you know what I'll be doing in them!
It's a holiday for most in US today so hope you
folks are riding as well.

rode 20 mile of technical yee-haw up on the Kettle Crest yesterday. Today is
stripping wallpaper, cleaning the pond slime out of the hot tub, painting
and who knows what else...

Always. Actually have been spending the past few days riding with my kids.
My son had taken a pretty bad spill on his bike at the end of our road day
b-4 yesterday, first case of road rash he's experienced, and he did it up
right!! Goofing off with one of his neighborhood buddies, he learned what
NOT to do!! The hard way.
Dave (he was back on the back the next morning!!!)

Did 22 miles on the singlespeed at Fair Hills, MD yesterday. Same
weather as you, too. Today was swimming in the pool.

Yup. Had nice Mikey ride today. With each km I think of Mike Vandeman and
how he inspires me to ride.

I am working on creating an internet that is off-limits to
Mike Vandeman ("pure habitat"😉. Want to help? (I spent the previous 8
minutes fighting trolls and spammers)

I dunno, wouldn't seem like Labor Day if I didn't burn a bunch of gas
that I really didn't need to in a senseless pursuit of fun! Isn't that
what labor day is all about?

I have a cold. The most ambitious thing I did today, with weather the
same but a tad warmer, was take a nap. 🙁

I snuck in a ride today between getting my new hovel ready for habitation
and moving a couple of things over there today.
I'll be sitting at 1500' on the flanks of 5000' Mt Lukens (with a view of
Catalina Island from the patio when it ain't too smoggy):

Three nice rides in three days. All from the house: didn't burn a drop
of gas all weekend (*almost* mowed the lawn, but nah...).
Saturday I went out with my neighbor (owner of my former house) who's
way into super-technical, DH, and dirt jumping. We had an old college
friend who's moved to Boulder along (up here to get some good riding
in). It was fun - we rode some classic technical trails at Hartman's
that I won't usually ride alone, and my wife and other ride-buddies
won't do. There were a few dabs but no blood lost. The adrenaline was
flowing like water (or something like that). After getting home, we
loaded the boy up in the trailer and rode out North of town to a good
friend's 50th birthday party extravaganza. I was really full and pretty
beat by the time we loaded up and rode home.
Sunday we got a sitter and and the Mrs and I actually got in a ride
together with a few friends (LBS owner and wife, another old college
buddy who has returned to the G-Spot). We hit the Signal Peak area for a
small excerpt of what I call the Signal Mesa Death March. Rick, the LBS
owner had his geared bike all taken apart, so I decided to suffer along
with him on my SS too. It's a big ride (lots of hard climbing) for the
SS so I was feeling very ready for the local organic steaks we threw on
the barbie at Rick's that evening (rode over with the boy in the trailer
again of course).
Monday I did a solo SS Hartman's loop for just a couple of hours. Since
I had a limited time window I pushed it really hard while dodging potent
little storm cells that were passing through the valley. I came home
tired, hot, crusty, and very satisfied.
Good times...

Twice a year? I was just up in that 'hood an hour or so ago and it's
not too bad to the North today.

Right now, Friday is the best bet. I've already pledged to ride my ass
off in the dirt on Sat and Sun, where yet is TBD.
