You may remember be moaning about not being able to pedal up
hills a few weeks ago.
Today, I went for a ride along my new favourit route. 12.5
miles, almost all up or down hill, up to Caerphilly, then
hooking around the back of the hill that Castell Coch is on,
coming back through a trail in the forest.
Anyway, the big news is, I only walked once, for about 10
yards - and then only because I couldn't get started on a
really steep bit after stopping. The rest of the time, I
either powered up, or spun on the granny gear. I got home
feeling pretty tired, but elated. The practise has worked.
Next, I think, is stretching out my distance. I'm thinking
of Newport and back.
