  1. Hey everyone, I haven't been around much lately but I do check in and read your posts when I can. I
have been having a rough go of it for a couple of months now. I think I am going to have to actually
pay next week for being over my goal! I am hoping to turn that around! Persistance, not perfection!
Anyway I am looking into joining curves and I was wondering what everyone who does it thinks about
it. I would have to drive about 15 miles to the closest one, which isn't bad but it would be a
special trip. This is one of my concerns. The other is my kids. During the school year wouldn't be
bad but during the summer would be. (I am a SAHM) Anyway if anyone has any comments about it good or
bad I am all ears, or eyes I guess in this case! It is good to see you all here!

  2. Take it from me, you must do this. I always put off exercise and especially
aerobic classes that I enjoy because of the money or the time it took or it
interfering with dinner time and 100 other reasons to avoid sweating!
Put yourself first and throw all your excuses out the door.
I joined jazzercise today! I forgot how much fun it used to be when I did
the classes 15 years ago while the children were little. I have a gym
membership but just didn't find it fun to do.
A friend of mine joined curves and loves it. Do what you enjoy and you will
stick with it. Make yourself the priority and forget all the reasons not to
    join.
    Hope this helps.

Lots of people are Curves members here, you should get some pretty good advice. Around my house they
have Goodlife Fitness for Women for about the same cost as Curves but they have on site day care. It
may be something to look into.

  4. I LOVE it. I try and make it 3 or 4 times a week. I've met a few people there that come at the same
time that I do so that help. Our staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great too. I lost over
7 inches the first month I was there. This was my body catching up after having lost 20lbs at that
point. In 4 months I have lost close to 12" and another 12 lbs. Not bad. Maybe you could visit them
and see if they'll let you do a trial membership to see if you like it.

  5. Hi Peggy,

I absolutely love going to Curves. I am not a person who has been able to motivate myself to
exercise ever and I find if I don't go I miss it. It's the one thing I have found that has actually
worked and kept me on track.

Our Curves has a room for the kids to go into to watch a movie or color. I take my kids many days
and they just sit in the car and play gameboy for the
1/2 hour (they are old enough to do this).

It is definately something I recommend!!!

  6. Hi Peggy, I LOVE Curves and have been trying to between 3 and 4 times a week. I don't have any
advice re: the kiddos but I do know that our's doesn't allow them there. Maybe some place nearby
will have a daycare section? Some do! Good luck!

  7. Thanks for all of your responses! I am going to check it out this week. I told my husband that I
think this is what I want for my birthday this year. (kind of fitting!) I tried to stop in
yesterday to check and see if I thought I would like it and they were closed due to heating
    problems. Thanks again!
