My bastardized MTB commuter has actually been running a set of TT handlebars for the last six months and it's a great addition if it's offroad days are over... OK, my bum's sticking up way in the air but at least it's aero, and the narrower bars make lanesplitting a dream... looks kinda goofy i'll admit... Must put up pictures some time.

Do the brake levers work ok? They look a bit of a reach.

If I could find some bar end brake levers that handled v-brakes, I'd be right chuffed to get rid of those loops of cable... but I'm stuck with it for now... Anybody know if such beasts exist?? I know you can find some STI levers that handle V-brakes but doubtful about bar end levers.

Couldn't you get road levers or TT levers and route the cable through the bars?
I've never had V brakes so I'm not sure but I thought there was some cool thingamajig you fit to the V brake caliper to make road levers work.

In the short-term this project was a 'spend nothing' kind of thing, so the standard levers plus oodles of cable was the best cheapest solution to see if it all worked... Maybe I'll just have to go fixed to make it all nice and tidy in the end 😄

More mods? Mmmm... The orig cranks were straight, newies bend slightly outwards. So I need to get a shorter BB to get my feet closer together. The rest will be more cosmetic than 'nuts & bolts'. I spied some BBB carbon Bar ends in Cecil Walker a few weeks back & just have to getem!Purely for the '[censored] factor' of course🙂 But they will look [censored] on the chrome bar, soooo... I will need to get a matching carbon straight bar too. $$$$ I also may have a black road stem coming my way to boot. To add to the 'Poor Mans TT bike' feel, I gota thinkin' after looking @ a link you posted actually, the one with all those people sinking time & $$$ into their recumbents. I want to try and make some discs (http://tinyurl.com/vd7x) for the back wheel (black of course). That's if I can get my [censored] together and find the time & materials for them. SS-ing? Sorry I'm not into them. Well that's not entirely true. I love the clean look, but not the ride. I like the comfort of gears too much. Go on, you can call me soft🙂
