Even better, the author can't understand what is written in the road rules and misquotes them!

LOL says it all really
"..Oh and Glenn I can't believe you drive 8km to work everyday...Ride a
bike. It'll be quicker (even if you do stop at all the red lights), you'll
be fitter, you'll be able to set a good example to other cyclists & drivers
and you will have exercised out all of your frustration by time you get to
work."
I have two people at my GF's company in Windsor that live in Richmond and
drive to work every day. They [censored] and moan about the traffic and cost of
it and every work do they get drunk and complain to me that they are fat and
un attractive and will find no one to love them.....
I just need to say I rode to the shops and back for them to give me a "WOW
you are so fit"...rolleyes...
It'll also help you overcome your 'bike envy'.
Had a taxi on my ass down little Collins st the other day with me doing
about 40km. He was on his horn and gesturing for me to move out of the way.
He even commented that i just don't get it? What clown does 50km plus down
there and thru the intersection of Swanston st in a car?? One that wants to
find a bunch of pedestrians on his bonnet thats who. Thing is the waiting
light at the bottom of the hil was red anyway and he just wanted to get
there before me as he has more right.
In the end there are two sides to a lot of this. Some laws have us stopping
and that agrevates drivers we hold up. And if we preceed when safe we are
breaking the law etc etc.
Its a no win argument and unless you put someone on a bike and make them
ride they rarely get it.

Couldn't agree more.
Some topics here have been done to death. Some I no longer read, which
includes incidences with cars, the helmet debate is another as is drugs
in cycling. Negative commentators are avoided, humor is welcome. Most of
us have a "track record" here so you pretty much know what to expect
from the regulars. I love reading about peoples rides, especially
mountain bike adventures. What do other people on here like to read about?

I prefer reading informed (and some uninformed) bicycle-themed blogs over forums. Also add to that sites like Treehugger, SlashDot, BoM radar, BoingBoing and timewasting sites like ytmnd, b3ta & ircimages. Also find ColourLovers absolutely enthralling, but I do like pretty shiny colours. 😉

Pppppretttyyy prettty colours....
I can (and do) stare at this stuff for hours on end.
In bicycle related news, Bikesoiler got my 2nd frame back from the powdercoaters. Also Go-Fast RED although this commuter/daily driver replacement is going to require time & money to build up. The existing daily driver is becoming the stupidmarket bike. And thus N + 1 continues it's natural progression. 🙂

i was thinking how good colourlovers would be applied to bike duco jobs....
The steed is looking mighty fine, so I expect the new job looks just as good
🙂 tricking them up is the fun bit! 😉

How long does powercoating last?
Is it just that our local power coater is a [censored] powder coater?
Some stell plate I had done about 10 years ago has already started
flaking off.
