  1. 3 yrs ago I weighed 180 pounds. Always been fit but could never lose
more than a kilo or 2 & then whack it back on. I then discovered
Atkins & got down to 158 within a couple of months.

Gradually I went off the rails & am now at me peak heaviest weight of
190 pounds. Basically eating chocolate all the time & other nasties.
My pants are really tight around my gut (getting quite pronounced now)
& causing me pain during the day. Also feeling chest pains now &
again. I've been meaning to go back on Atkins for a while now, but now
feel I have no choice. At this rate I'll be technically obese if I put
    on another 6 pounds.

So here I go again, starting right now.

    Good luck! :-)

And this time, don't just go on a diet!
    Live the lifestyle, permanently!

    Cheers......

  4. If you're feeling chest pains, I'd go see a Dr. immeadiately. That is
not normal, nor is it something that will be fixed by changing your
diet. Getting evaluated quickly could save your life.

I agree he should see a dr for chest pains BUT - when I am binging, meaning
living for weeks on nothing but ice cream, candy bars, shakes, cookies etc I
also get wierd chest pains. Like my heart is doing flip-flops. I attribute
it to mainlining sugar and it usually scares me back to LC.

could he just be od'ing on sugar?

  6. Orange Crush...are you male or female?
    How tall?

Glad you jumped on board! We're pretty much neck and neck and heading
for about the same goal, LOL. I peeped at the scale today---192.

For some reason I felt it was a man who posted - I'm curious now!!

  8. Male, 173cm. My 36 inch pants are getting really tight around the
waist & giving me pain - out of principle I refuse to buy 38 when I
have brand new 34's sitting in my wardrobe. I still can't believe I've
whacked on 30 pounds - I'm reasonably active (run, squash, tennis,
    light weights etc).

I know 1st hand low-carbing definitely works, so here we go again.

I don't understand how someone can go back to eating high carb after
eating low carb. If I eat a single meal that is high carb I feel like
[censored]. I get a fuzzy feeling in the head, I generally feel crappy and I
start getting carb cravings. It is just so much easier and feels so
much better to eat a well balanced low carb meal.

I didn't understand it either at first, but I found out the way it
happens is incrementally. If you gradually add carbs back in, it
doesn't make you feel crappy. You just have a few fries off your
friend's plate one night, maybe just couple of bites of candy the next
day, then eventually you can be back to where you started. It's sneaky.
