Their Salsa Casera is even better - the one in the little can for
    $.70

David likes the salsa casera, but we can't get it that cheap!

Pretyt much. I just have too much time on my hands today, and it
irks me when I see people use that phrase <shrug> in anything
    other than an educational setting.

I can't imagine a grocery store that doesn't carry the Herdez
salsas, even in cities with small mexican populations. Looks like
you're in K.C. or MN someplace? I could even get it in
    Greenville, SC.

The Salsa Ranchera is kinda disappointing compared to the other
varieties. Casera kicks ass, though. Verde is good, too. It's
the only salsa I buy, other than making my own from Rotel tomatoes
    and fresh veggies.

okay, cool. I get in a goofy mood and start writing like I talk in real life,
but unfortunately you can't hear the inflections or see my face so sometimes
    the jokes get lost.

you used to get it easier here, but all the places where I used to buy it
started phasing it out and replacing it with other brands which are either too
spicy and drown out the flavor of the tomatillos or are loaded with thickeners
    which ruin the texture.

We have a pretty good mexican population here, and you can get the other
Herdez salsas everywhere, but the salsa verde is becoming scarce.

My friend from Calexico brought me a metric buttload of salsas and sauces from
Mexicali when she came to visit, even some Herdez ones i'd never seen. I
didn't like the Ranchera at all, and it looks like it would be good. The
chipotle wasn't bad, the chile de arbol and the cinco chiles were ultra super
    hot

You be the boss of an inferior salsa 😉 My favorite salsa verde, or any
other type of salsa is Jose' Madrid. There Salsa Verde (Hot) and Chipotle
(Hot) are phenominal and excellent in recipes.

I don't like really hot salsas, i think the heat can mask too much of the
flavor. It's one of the reasons why I like the Herdez salsa verde, it has a
great flavor that isn't overwhelmed by heat. It does have heat, just not a ton
    of it.
