  1. My husband is having a very bad flare up of Hemorrhoids. Before we
moved he went to the doctor and got examined to make sure there were no
other problems. The Dr. basically said Yep, it's hemorroids and sent
him home. Happily there are no other problems. We also went to a
acupuncture college and a Chinese Herbalist in the west. However there
still here, always lurking, and the pain is debilitating.

I've been all over the internet researching hemorrhoids and see very
little about stress. Does any have any info on this. Seems very
relevant to me. When I did a google I got 249k results. Any suggestions
on good sites or how to separate the wheat from the chaff?

What are the latest treatments for hemorrhoids? Years ago my husband
heard an NPR (National Public Radio) show that talked about using
antibiotics but I find nothing mentioned about that.

Has anyone had recent luck with acupuncture. Long ago (thirty years) we
had a bad bout and found a doctor who was Western trained and Eastern
trained in China. He was fabulous! But alas, deceased.

And by chance does anyone know of a sucessful Proctologist, G.I., or
Acupuncturist in the Raleigh area. We've just moved and know no one.
Enough questions for now. Appreciate any help.

    Thanks, linda

  3. Jeeeezzzz... The next problem is bowel cancer coming to an [censored] near you.
Get him off the damn grains and stop the severe bloating / constipation
causing the damn things in the first place. Has he had trouble swallowing
food yet from hiatal hernia acting up or does he just swallow Rolaids by the
    bottle so far?

The wheat and the dairy marketting boards love you!

  4. I found that the best place to look for an acupuncturist is on:

  5. Thanks Lisa and Greg for the links. they were very helpful. And thank
you Dr Moran. we have an appointment tomarrow at an integrative clinic
and hopefully we'll get the best of both worlds.

.....and Mr. Bob! I dare say you're right. Normally we have a very good
diet low in dairy and wheat. However, having just made a very long move
we were bad which probably contributed to the flare up. But your
attitude was really uncalled for. Maybe you should have a big glass of
    warm milk and calm down.

thanks again to all of you, linda

If your "integrative doctor" does not do a thorough proctological
examination, still go and see a specialist. The diagnosis you will be
offering him, that of hemorrhoids, is very suspect. He may well have them,
but have another source for pain..
