Joe Papp confirmed to Cyclingnews that the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) is investigating possible doping violations stemming from sales of EPO and HGH that he facilitated on behalf of the Shandong Kexing Bioproducts company.
 
Purchases of the illegal performance-enhancing drugs were made by up to 187 international athletes from a variety of sports, including cycling, from September 2006 to September 2007.
 
The transactions took place with Papp as an intermediary between his sportsman clients and the Chinese sellers of the Eposino-brand of EPO and Jintropin HGH.
 
Yesterday, Cyclingnews confirmed that USADA had given a two-year suspension to Jonathan Chodroff, who bought EPO through Papp in the spring of 2007 - though at the time he was unaware that it was his compatriot who was facilitating the transaction.

The rest of the persons who purchased EPO can rest easy now - at least in the US. Interesting to see what the UCI does with this...

I had the pleasure of telling Joe Papp just a few short months ago, after he popped in out of the blue over on ST and talked about himself being a celebrity ( humorously, I'm sure) , that he should be in prison or dead.

Its low lifes like him that are the real villains here, not the riders. Riders wouldn't be in the predicament that they are in now via the drug dealing enterprises of himself & all the while, he was lining his own pockets.

You're really showing your naivete, Chappy. Yes, drug dealers are scum, but that fact will never remove the culpability of the individual drug user - save the drug dealer that forcibly injects or stuffs the drugs down the throat of the recipient.
 
Does a gun kill, or is it the person pulling the trigger that kills?? Because all the other riders are cheating, does that justify you cheating too?? Because your vehicle is capable of going 160mph, does that make the manufacturer responsible for your speeding tickets??

Drug dealers are scum. Riders who take PED's are scum. Both of them should go down and burn with bans from the sport and jail time where applicable. You get caught with 'gear' without a real medical need (ie doctor diagnosis, a second opinion and dialogue/approval to race from your national cycling association with said meds) and a sole intent to cheat, then that should be it, license pulled... for good.
 
This cr#p that allows people who testify some immunity from prosecution is complete bullsh1t too... Landis should burn. Papp should burn... all those who have doped with specific intent to gain an advantage should burn. Those who get caught in the tangled web of the system because they took some cough medicine the night before and raced with a cold should pay the piper too because being nieve is no excuse in this day and age...

There are many PED's that are not illegal. They may come in nutritional supplement form, but none the less are proven to increase results.
 
My stance is that when transfusions and EPO became in disfavor- the Armstrong camp quickly found other, non illegal ways to achieve similar results.
 
I also believe he could have used some new drug not widely known other than by the US Government. They're always testing new drugs to make their soldiers stronger/faster & being good friends with George W. Bush, sorry but nothing surprises me. Armstrong winning has benefited the USA immensely. Why wouldn't the USA allow him (the best USA cyclist at the time) to make them look good.
