  1. I have a heavy Calphalon cookie sheet with a "non-stick" surface. I
recently baked some battered egg-plant slices on it. I had put a thin
coating of vegetable oil on the surface first. But now the pan has a
hard sticky gloppy mess smeared all over it that no amount of scrubbing
will get off. I'm sure it's the oil that has hardened from the baking.
I tried soaking and scrubbing to no avail. Any suggestions?

Vinegar, dish soap, water, and heat the tray up until the stuff simmers for
a while. Works for me with pans.
