Try a longer saddle stem first. How tall are you now?

Before you spend anything, try moving your seat back and raising it.

I also agree with the idea of a longer stem. Pushing the seat back too much will change the relationship between you and the pedals. Although it is possible that as you have grown taller, you may need to push the saddle back a tad to maintain the proper knee to pedal spindle relationship as your legs may be longer.

Wait until you are completely done growing -- then get a new frame. Readjusting everything now is your cheapest option and best value, especially since you love the bike.

To clarify my response in relation one of the previous posts. I mean longer handlebar stem to approximate a longer top tube. Also depending on how you fit your current frame, to raise the seat you may need a longer seatpost. If needed take the bike to a good shop and have them help fit you.

yeah, i raised the stem.. i can't move the seat too much, but i've tried as much as i can... i going to check w/ LBS and see aout a new stem and seatpost... and save $200! i'm 5'5 now. i was 5'3. i'm afraid that i'm gong to grow again, over the winter. but i ought to see what i can do to keep this frame. because it's so awesome.

yeah i needed to move the seat. my legs have grown, so i had to move the seat! i have knee problems, so i always have to watch out for that.
the handlebars felt a little low last year, but now i'm afraid to reach the drops. the bike shop that i bought it at, they said, "oh, well we''l just flip the stem to raise it a little." so now, that's not enough.

A little off topic but, damn I'm jealous. I didn't grow an inch after I was 14, stayed 5 feet even ever since. I did recently see something that might be helpful to you. It was a seatpost that allows you to move the seat forward and backward without causing it to tilt at all. Allows you to increase the effective length of your top tube if you feel cruched up. I can ask the guy who it belongs to what brand it is if you are interested. (he's long torso'd so it allows him to have a smaller frame but a longer reach.)

yeah, that sounds like a neat product. yeah, i didn't expect to grow at all... i was about 5'3 last summer. and my mom is barely 5'3, and my grandmother is slightly shorter. so it was a bit unexpected, since my dad wasn't very tall. although when i was 2 yrs old my doctor had told my mom that based on my growth then, that i would be 5'5. so...maybe i'm done growing now... i've had to buy new clothes, too, since everything i wore freshman year is too short.

hi if you are going to get a new bike the bike you want is the apollo outrage because i have one and there the best for raceing and moving on i race on mine and i win the club i go to is race club and there are teams and we race for money my team is the best in the 1/4 of the mile race are best time is 1 min and 29.45 sec and we all have apollos so buy one.

Sounds like you need to find another bike shop... Dimension makes an extender for threadless steerers that can bring the bars up a lot more than flipping the stem.

yeah, that was the last time I went there! that bike shop is closed now, anyway.
Now go to the Bike Shop over in Sarnia. this one dude is really helpful, knowledgeable and nice. I wouldn't reccomend many bike shops in the area, for a serious cyclist. most are run by teens, it seems like.
