  1. I was wondering if anyone had any input on helmets with screened vent holes to keep bugs out. I am not so worried about bugs getting into the helmet, but rather the occasional bee that may get there and get [censored] at me (allergic to bee stings). That said, would anyone recommend one helmet over the other? Looking for a good one for the summer that wont break the bank or make me look like I got a UFO on my head...Thanks!

  2. I did get stung while riding once. Somehow the bee got under the chin strap and stung me behind the ear.

There are models that have bug nets under the vents, but it's been a long time since I've seen them. The LAS and Uvex brands seem to come to mind.

  3. Rudy Project...some of their helmets have a bug net.

  4. Appreciate the advice guys, I am leaning toward getting the Lazer Helium as it has options to include an aero shield, bug net, and an integrated blinking light to name a few.

  5. Not a problem for me. I seldom wear a helmet.

  6. I still haven't gotten one that I feel comfortable wearing. The heat gets trapped in the helmet and I feel like I'm going to faint.

  7. Just get one that feels comfortable. The looks don't matter really...

As for the bugs, you can always wear a cycling cap underneath.

Sounds like a lot of extra features, though I wouldn't need them. What's the price on that helmet?

  9. Insects infiltrate my helmet a lot, but I rarely get stung. Most die on impact due to the speed.

I haven't purchased a helmet with netting yet, I think most models with netting are MTB styles.
