  1. 'er indoors requires a helly hansen lifa versa womens' long-sleeved jersey
    as a present
    - £45 from cotswold
    - email costwold to find out what size is equivalent to 16 - they say
    'ladies xl'
    - i say 'you do not sell ladies in xl'
    - they say 'oh'

H-H web site not very informative, but says only local h-h retailer is a
branch of Allsports. Visit Allsports to find it is a glorified trainer shop
full of hyperactive staff who can't leave you alone for more than 30 seconds
without asking 'do you need any help', all of whom are incapable of helping
when asked 'have you got a helly hansen lifa versa womens' long-sleeved
    jersey '

does anybody know if HH do do a helly hansen lifa versa womens' long-sleeved
    jersey ' in xl ?
any of you ladies know if xl=16 ?

'cos if I buy it and it doesn't fit, i'll be the one in trouble

I wear size 16 for tops, and I tend to be a L rather than an XL.
The Helly hansen site has a fitfinder, which translates their sizes into
cms. Women's L comes out as 100 cm chest , XL as 108 cm.
For comparison, the Rohan website gives for a size 16 chest 99 cm, for L
    99-104. A 108 cm chest looks more like a size 18-20.

Depending on her shape the men's sizes may fit her better, I think most of
my Hellies have been men's (wide shoulders and long arms 🙂

But only a fraction of the trouble you'd be in if you bought one that was
    too big...

would appear to answer your prayers. I suspect the size guide on the latter
refers to chest, not waist, though. Is a size 16 really something like 43"?

  4. Thanks for that, Roos

of course you'lld expect to find the 'fit finder' in the contact me section,
    wouldn't you !

  5. Cheers John.

any idea what the relationship is between gearzone and venturesport
(I dont know if i'm paranoid, but when looking at buying something on the
web, I always check physical addresses - and these two both have the same
    H.O. address !)

If XL is size 16 I'm in trouble. A year's worth of bone idle
indolence has added an extra couple of XXs. <Rantette> I get
very irritated sometimes with the idea that people who like
walking are 'obviously' going to be slim and fit. What about
the rest of us? Don't we count? I'm neither slim nor fit,
nor as young as I'd like to be, but I enjoy the occasional
walk and I reckon I've got as much right as anyone else to be
able to stay warm and dry whilst doing so. </Rantette>

No idea, sorry - they simply fell out of Google. I presume they are quoting
    near-identical prices, then ?!
