    That should read bunch skills...

    Then again.. 🙂

Starting with people riding on tribars in the middle of a big, fast
bunch. Can't we just hire a helicopter and a grabber to pluck them out
by the neck? Then we can drop them over the ocean. Just giving the gene
    pool a bit of a clean. . .

    Well yeah
Mind you those are the good ones.. at least they are going in a straigh line

SHeesh I keep agreeing with you today

    🙂[/QUOTE]

Can Unkie Mark tell all you kiddies a Hellride story? Got your Milo and slippers? Ok, sit down on the rug at my feet, and let's begin . . .

Once upon a time, the Hellride got a bit ornery. Ther were some riders with things to prove, pants to fill and stories they wanted to tell. So they set off to Mt Eliza, vowing not to let any stinky old red lights or trains tell them what to do.

Mr Plod didn't like this, and Unkie Mark was in the bunch, but not up the front with the silly teenagers who thought they couldn't die. But Mr Plod made sure that the riders knew he was there. He drove up alongside the bunch, and gradually pulled over, squashing some of the riders into a smaller and smaller width, using his loudhailer to say "double file! double file!" The bunch were angry.

Next week the bunch was even more angry after Mr Plod stopped his car in the middle of the road sideways on the top of the small rise on Beach Rd., just near the beach in Frankston. He opened both his car doors, and Mr Plod's mates tried to grab cyclists as they rode by. They tried to grab Unkie Mark, but he rode round them. The person he had been talking to just then, Steve Drake, who used to be a very fast rider indeed, was grabbed by Mr Plod. Steve almost fell.

Mr Plod was not very clever to grab Steve. Steve was studying to be a lawyer. He complained about Mr Plod to Mr Plod's boss.

Next week, Mr Plod came to talk to the bunch when they started. Mr Plod was a different Mr Plod, who didn't yell at the cyclists, and tried to reason with them about not running red lights, and staying to the left on Oliver's Hill. This Mr Plod seemed nicer than the last one, and the bunch were happy with him. They did what he asked and then everyone (mostly) was happy and had a happy ride, then, and next week, and the week after that.

All that happened a few years ago, and Unkie Mark isn't that fast any more. But he likes hearing about the bunch, and one day might get there early enough to ride the biggest ride of them all.

    The End.

Bike path is a bit interesting atm.

Yeah. I noticed as I was driving past with the thermostat for the
electric seat heaters set to medium and hot air blowing in all the
    right places :-)

You can give them a bit of a scare by riding alongside hands free and
renewing the +30 or adjusting the sunnies :-)

    It would sure scare me.
