Hello everyone! I live and ride in Chapel Hill, NC and teach 8th grade Social Studies. I race masters 35 (USCF) but really enjoy doing to long century rides with a lot of climbs. That takes me to the western part of the state with some great views and challenging climbs. Look forward to conversing with many in this community.

Yeah...I sold my car to save money for culinary school. I also wanted to get back in good shape, so it's not a bad thing. 🙂

definately nothing extreme about selling your car. on the contrary you might find it to be one of the sanest and most rational decisions you've ever made.. enjoy!

I am currently car less and just picked up a bike to get me around. It is used and I rode it for about 2 month on the east coast but now moved to the southwest and need to tune it up before I can ride it again. I really cant wait to get out and see the area around here before the blazing summer heat arrives.

Cycling and food!!!! Gotta be the best combination ever.

My favourite thing to do on Sunday moring is a nice long ride with my mates followed a huge cooked breakfast. Egg, bacon, sausages (black pud if I can get my hands on it), kippers, mountains of toast and english marmalade... YUM!

Yum...you're making me hungry! I'm also interested in nutrition, so having a culinary degree will serve me well! 🙂

I haven't regretted it yet, and I have a feeling I never will. Why dump money into a machine that does nothing but decrease in value and pollute the earth? The funny thing is that a year ago I would have never considered selling my car... it's funny how you change.

That is great Kevin, and SF is one the best cites to commute around on a bike. You must be an excellent hill climber!! I can only imagine your level of endurance, I am envious.

😎 well, i live in the cole valley neighborhood and i use a mostly hill-free circuit for getting to work downtown. in fact i do it with a fixed-gear and it's no problem..

with that said, i am in fact a pretty decent climber.. 🙂 (at least compared to some of my other cycling skills)
