HED or ZIPP rear disk

The Zipp has an golfbal-skin. Honestly, it doesn't matter which disc you buy, a slong it is lentil-shaped. Most difference in drag is made by the front wheel!!! So better spend your money on a HED trispoke, aero bar, aero seatpost etc.

It is my understanding that the HED has a lenticular shape, while the Zipp is flat. According to the book "High Tech Cycling", the lenticular shape is more aerodynamic. On the other hand, however, the Zipp is about 200 grams lighter, which could make a difference if you'll be doing a lot of climbing. Either way, they're fast wheels, you just need to decide what your priorities are.

The Zipp is also Lenticular.

Less weight is always good!!! Not only when you are climbing. It costs energy to rotate an onject. With a heavier, more rotating energy is required!!!

Zipp is twice the price as the HED. The only big difference is 200grams and a golfbal-skin. So I would suggest you to buy the HED, and for the front wheel a Treespoke. MOst drag is made by the front of the bike, so the front wheel, aero bar, your position and front of the frame. You can also buy small tires, like 18-20mm
