  1. Hi all,

I'm about preparing for my first half marathon. I found out that the
training plan on the puma running website could be good for me.
Unfortunately the plan is written in english.
Since in german we usually don't use english terms for training intensities
I'm a little bit confused over some training units.
What are the heart rates for easy pace jogging and endurance jogging? I
don't need any absolute values but the percentage of the maximum heart rate.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    TIA,
    Jochen

  2. based on the easy / hard /easy method here is my thoughts
    easy day=70% of maxHR
    hard day ( interval) 1 mile @ 70% / 2 miles@ 80% / 1 mile @ 70%
    easy day= 70% of maxHR
hard day= hill train 75-85% ( depend on the hills)
    easy day = 70 %maxHR
hard day = long slow day 70-75%
    my data
    maxHR=200
    restHR=45
    70%=150
    hope this helps
you can email me if you have more questions or just post here

  3. Thanks for your answer, but this isn't what I'm looking for.
First, have a look at the Puma training plan:
    http://www.pumarunning.com/training/puma_trainingplan.swf?startSession=3&startLevel=3
There's a mix of different training units I described.
I assume that endurance jogging will correspond to the german GA1, which
goes from 65% to 70% of maxHR. According to this, easy pace jogging could be
    GA2, spreading from 70% to 80%.

    Am I correct?

  4. 80% of maxHR is a little high , try 70%

A good rate would be 0 bpm (for a nazi [censored] like you)

No, I won´t: I *hate* those fancy sites!

    Isn´t GA1 70-80% and GA2 85-90% (and GA1/2, naturally enough, between
    the two) according to Hottenrott/Zulch?

Just by the sound of it, I´d imagine "easy pace jogging" to correspond
to LDL (<70%)and "endurance jogging" to GA1, but don´t take my word on
    it.

BTW if you don´t mind the German, you could also post in
de.rec.sport.laufen.misc which (together with its sister groups
..trainingswoche and .veranstaltungen) is a fairly active,
    knowledgeable, entertaining and hospitable group.

Ok, but where do I start? There's a lot of them, and I can only screw
    60 or 70 a day before I need a nap.
