CBD for $550.
Guess it's out of your price range, but I'm sure they would
have the model you mention - as would other bike/fitness
shops.

Below is a repost from me:

The S520 is the cheapest model that has both hrm and speed/cadence. The store
below does offer the 210, but not the 150 it appears. Others have had good
experiences with this site as well. Take advantage of the strong aussie dollar.

I took a risk and ordered a Polar 520 + Cadence sensor online.

Well it arrived today and is working fine.

If anyone wants to take advantage of a great Aussie Dollar, I ordered from

The web site looked a bit dodgy, but it is paying top dollar for google ads so
that gave me some confidence that they were legit.

The total including insured postage was $277.00 USD, which meant $395 came off
my credit card - $199USD for the 520, $39USD for sensor (dam it is $33 today !)
and $39USD for postage to Australia.

So I had a good experience with these guys, hope someone else might equally feel
like they get a bargain from these guys.

I bought a Polar S720 from watchmerun. It operates very nicely. I didn't
bother with the cadence sensor , but it came with the speed sensor. It
cost me US$293, which at the time was A$448.

US$288 + postage at the moment.

I was lucky too in that the cost was under A$500 so Australia Post
didn't collect any GST. If it had been couriered I would have been stung
for the A$50 GST and A$50 entry fee since the total was over A$250.

What sort of range does the sensor have? Ideally I'd like to wear the chest
band while doing Ju-Jitsu so I can take my pulse as well as cycling. Having
something on your wrist is not really practical. I guess 10 metres would be
ideal.

no chance whatsoever. max is about 90cm, the closer the better.

at in Brighton, VIC, Australia.

I bought my S610 on eBay, and paid $150 under recommended retail...

Well worth checking it out...

Also, no point complaining about the fine, riding the wrong way up a one
way... Most cyclists are happy to follow the road rules, so why complain if
you get fined for breaking them? The road rules are for all road users, not
just motorists...

I have used one of these for the last four years or so:

It doesn't have anything fancy like cadence, a lap timer, or audible
max/min HR alert, but it does the basics well. It cost me A$200 IIRC (I
initially got one for $99 in a BMX shop but it fell off during a race
[my fault for not clipping it on properly] and I never found it again).
I reckon you'd be hard pressed to find anything cheaper.

Yep, that's the major reason I bought the 710 - the
ability to download the HR info to a pc using the IR
adaptor (another $100!).
