  1. There has been a lot of discussion here lately regarding healthy food
    to me too.
My problem is - I don't like the raw food, because the taste is not
    good.
Isn't there some way that you can make the food that is good for you
    and the taste is good?
How do you eat healthy, when raw foods don't taste good?
    Isn't healthy living expensive?
Do you shakes sound like your type of "healthy food"?

Why do you assume that only raw food is healthy? I suggest you take a look
at Tom Billings' site, <http://www.beyondveg.com> (which is not an anti-
vegetarian site; Billings himself is a vegetarian). Billings shows good
evidence that many beliefs about the health benefits of a purely raw diet
are merely dogma and that many people who vigorously propound such beliefs
don't really follow them. Be sure to read his essay on "functional and
    dysfunctional lunch-attitudes."

Your taste can adjust to what you eat. You health
cannot adjust to inadequate nutrition. You decide which is
    important.

Not compared to the price of medical care!

  4. When I first started juicing, I tried beets and I found that the taste was
    horrible, almost vomit inducing.
A few months later I found that the taste was quite sweet.

  5. Anth,

You premise is valid, but you could perhaps have
chosen a better example. Most people, including myself,
despise the taste of raw beet juice (although I love
cooked beets). But more significantly, there is a wide
variation in the intensity of this flavor, so you might
find it acceptable one time and intolerable another. I
certainly would not suggest beet juice to a novice, or
anyone with an aversion to raw vegetables.

  6. Perhaps beet is a bad example. I'm still at the 'boring phase' in raw foods
    food is fuel basically
I've read that with a little creative skill the whole thing explodes into
many flavours. I'll probably get there in the end.
A friend of mine tried beet carrot and apple juice and found it delicious. I
suspect he would get bored of it.

  7. Anth,

I'm not into juices that much - haven't time. But I
love good fresh fruit and vegetables, especially those
I can raise in my own garden. It has been 25 years
since I could have a garden, but this past summer I ate
a fresh salad from it almost every day.

  8. Well actually one of the reasons I juice is because it's so quick.
I suppose if you want to snack out of bags etc that's much quick.
You can make a juice and have the equipment cleaned and benches wiped down
    within 3 mins.
Thing I like is wok fried (just blanched) broccoli onions peppers pineapple
    and apple.
In fact I'm going to do some now 🙂

Hello all, may I suggest a possible solution to the food dilema? I
have been working with/for a website for the past couple of months. I
recently made my first purchase of some of their products. And I have
to say that I was really impressed! I didn't know what to expect, but
I'm glad that I tried it! www.BodyWealth.Net is a great resource for
anybody wanting a healthy, positive lifestyle and they have the
products and ideas to get you going! One of their lines of products
is called Brain Garden. This company provides nutritious, healthy
food that is easy to eat on the run, or home cooked. I purchased
Finally Fruit and a mutli pak of Pulse Bars. I was really taken with
the Finally Fruit! It tastes just like I had picked it from my garden
or bought it fresh from the grocery store! Let me explain the Finally
Fruit to you. They have a way of preparing the fruit in such a manner
that it's almost dried. The fruit comes in a sealed container in bite
size pieces. It is dried, but not the same way as if you'd buy "dried
apricots". They parch the fruit so all of its nutrients are still
there. There's no additives, just the goodness and wholeness of the
fruit itself. Very easy to snack on! If you're more of a granola bar
person, that's where the Puls Bars come in. I actually just ate one,
and have a list of ingredients that I'd like to share with you. (I
    had a banana flavoured bar.)
    -dates
    -raisins
    -oats
    -sesame seeds
    -sunflower seeds
    -prunes
    -banana granules
    -cashews
    -almonds
    -walnuts
    -pecans
    -hazelnuts
    -banana powder
    -figs
    -barley flour
    -buckwheat
    -millet
    -brown rice flour
    -corn grits
    -flaxseed
    -beet root powder
    -grape seed oil
    -walnut oil
    -quinoa
    -amaranth

All this is combined to offer you the highest possible nutrition!
Here is what they have to say about their Pulse Bar:
"Our bar is something their isn't. It offers more than a convenient
snack or an easy meal replacement. It's not a carbo-load or a
sugar-fest for a quick short term energy. It's not even fortified!
Our bar is made with only whole food ingredients, so your hunger is
satisfied and your energy is boosted naturally. Whether you munch at
your desk or on the go, here's a bar you can really sink your teeth
    into!"
I definetly recommend this product to people who are constanly "on the
go" and need/want a nutritious, delicious snack!
    Thanks, Freya

You can think whatever you like. I did not write "spam". What I
wrote is as true as I know it. I was trying to be helpful and
supportive. The website is real, as are the products that I metioned.
I'm sorry to have been received with such negativity. Perhaps you
are unsatisfied with areas of your life? Anyway, I have no desire to
argue, I just wanted to share a really great website and product with
    everybody out there.

It's interesting how people with a financial interest in products, and
with a website devoted to selling products, consistently assure us
that they "just want to share" information about those products. To
me, it sounds more like the "sharing" involves the transfer of wealth
from the reading public to the owner of the website.

I really do despise that sort of hypocrisy.

How would you know if I wrote "spam" or not? Have you tried any of
the products that I mentioned? What I wrote is 100% true as I know
it. I was hoping to share a great website and a great product with
everybody. I have no intention of "spamming", and am sorry that you
    feel that way.
