My dad learnt to cook at 82. His previous experience was limited to toast
and baked beans from a can. Two years later he can do all sorts of stuff
like pizzas, pasties, soup. We are very proud of him!

DH is a foodie and he really loves to eat which means he won't be
putting up any of my food for anything besides his tummy. I'm making a
very mild salsa and salsa verde today so will post the pics later. I'll
be posting pics of our late dinner tonight - spareribs, foil potatoes
and I'm not quite sure what else yet. I've been busy canning. Barb is
indeed the jam queen 🙂

It's the other way around in my house. I was raised on home made jams and
jellies and just can't bring myself to spend the money it costs to get
equivalent quality stuff in the store. I can't get my wife interested in
working with those hot bottles and hot liquids. My mother has always kept me
supplied with here home made chilli sauce but she isn't doing that kind of
stuff anymore so I may have to add that one, except that I just eat enough
of it to make a huge batch. One or two bottles usually last a year around
here.

I'm the opposite. I can anything possible. DH is coming around. He
loves that ping 🙂
