  1. I'm contemplating buying a rucksack and was measuring myself up and discovered
that my back length is 44cm/17.3". This sounds really small to me. Am I a midget
or deformed or is it about average ? <g>

    Cheers

Hmmm... Definitely a bit odd. I think the Christmas turkey may have
    been longer than that! :-)

    Or a turkey.

    1. It depends on the length of your legs and neck. Are they in
    proportion?

    2. What back lengths are the rucksacks designed for? If they are all
for 40" then, yes, you are very small. However, a 40" back length
    would be VERY long.

    3. In my experience, short stature and deformity can be due to living
under bridges. You're not a troll are you?

    Define in proportion <g>

OK, I've found a sizing chart now, sizes range from 30 - 56cm, so I was
measuring correctly - I thought it was top of hip to top of shoulder, although
strictly it's to the 7th vertebra.

My latest rucksack (can't remember the make as I gulp down this bottle
of delicious Timothy Taylor Landlord) has an adjustable back but no
size chart. Well, there IS a size chart but it just says Short,
Medium, Long - hm? How useful is that then?

I shortened it two notches and it fits now!
