HASA bicycles - any good?

a tuning.

Anyone know anything about HASA bikes?

A $250 bike is at the lower end of the price spectrum. There is a three way trade-off: choose any two of Light, Durable and Cheap. You've got the Cheap sorted out, so you either have Light or Durable. Either one could be suited to your purposes. Keep it maintained and clean and it will probably provide thousands of kms of service.

HASA (Heng Feng Bicycle Co.) had a relatively big display at the Taipei
bike show recently , this Singapore blogger bothered to take a pic:

whereas I tended to take pics of skinny wheeled stuff & Hasa is better
known for fat ones.

The key is you bought it from an LBS and not Kmart. It seems the guy
is willing to stand behind it somewhat. Make sure you take advantage
of the free service/tuning.

I bought a HASA after getting fed up with the over priced road bikes here in Western Australia. I got a relatively cheap R4 for $499 (40-50% cheaper than nearest alternatives here) and its been great so far. I had to take it to a local shop to get it looked over as I had it shipped part assembled in a box and was was astonished at the animosity I encountered by the staff at the shop when discussing my new bike. It wasn't just that shop that gave me grief for buying a HASA two others actually refused to service the bike for me! To be honest I have concluded that they are all fed up at the fact that they cant match a bike that cheap with the good parts it has on it.

My HASA is great and I think they are brilliant value. Mine seems very light for the price, no problems so far and it looks great. I would definitely recommend them based on what i have seen so far.

Hi...I'm from Brazil and got one HASA BIKE about US$ 800,00, it has about 6 months and get some problems at cranck, but was covered by garantee. If compare about quality and price it has a good relation with another brands and still now has been a good bike.
No more problems and even my friend who has a KONE, mine it's better with good equipaments.

I recomend and sincerely I'm thinking about represent this brand over here.

Give more model that are provided by hasabike. And also write the price list.

The LBS needs to pay rent and utilities and line their pockets. If they don't want your business then go elsewhere. This is where chain stores come in like Performance. I can't imagine Performance turning away a bike maintenance customer. I am fed up with the LBS already deciding which bike you will buy before you enter their store. They choose their brands band that's it. Take it or leave it. No way to do business. They treat you right, you return. If they don't then that's ok also. You just never, ever return. And with pleasure. I am always looking for that obscure brand that gives the most bang for the buck. Light weight, bright color or polished, with strong welds, and at an attractive price that in most cases cuts out the middle man is delivered to your door. Now, how's that for service? You can't beat it.
