Has anyone had any mechanical problems in the last 2 weeks???

I got a flat tire a coupla weeks ago.

The T-Rex shaped horn on my townie got flipped over so it hung below the
bars instead or it's usual perch on top.
I had to reach down and swivel it back up. Still makes that doggy chew
toy squeak sound ok, thank god!

We've spending a majority of our summer kayaking and bodyboarding. Might as
well use the gorgeous weather for the ocean activities. That's why we
haven't broken any bike parts yet this summer...

I whacked my American Classic front wheel on the trail two weeks ago.
Heading down a very fast smooth twisty piece of Middle Run in Delaware.
Came around the corner, hit right side of bar on tree, bike stops and
I don't. Then bike decides to follow over my head and into a tree. I
tried to true it myself. Now I'm waiting for a new rim 🙁.

Don't forget gaffing tape! All the staying power of duct tape, without
the residue. The stuff is gold IMHO.

Yeh. I road on the road today. I saw a house, and then another house,
and then a tree. Then I turned onto another road and climbed the paved
hill. Then I passed another roadie and he didn't wave to me. Then I
stopped at a stop light. Then... You get the picture.

LOL, the on trail repair was with some really crappy tape from my first aid
kit. I knew it would come in handy some day.

The official repair is with 2" wide clear packing tape. Seems to be holding
it on pretty good for now. The thing is, I just bought it thing spring,
closeout so a new mount will cost as much as I paid for the thing.

I had my pedals too tight and while starting out got a bit cockeyed,
couldn't get unclipped, fell and skinned my knee. All without moving. It's
funny how you can unclip in precarious situations but if you're standing
still you pull a bozo move like that.

No way! That happened to me too. I haven't had time to fix mine yet.

Same GT chain was rubbing the cage of the front
derailleur. So turned this and pull that and it worked just fine. And
who said you can't tune a Sram or is that a fish.

My spiel is that it's heavier, noisier, less efficient, more expensive....and I
bought a second one.

Now I'm thinking about a third, just so I don't have to keep changing tires

Actually, it's "only" $900 or so on a built-up wheel.

Therein, I think, lies a real problem for Rohloff. Given that eventually they
won't be selling them as fast as they make them, there needs to be some way for
people to try one out without risking a grand. It's *definately* not for
everybody.

I've not but I've got three of my co worker's bikes to work on.
I'm convinced they deliberately let them decay to the point where I
can't stand the creaks and offer to service them🙂
