Not doing it at all, sadly. We just don't have enough miles in our legs
to contemplate it. We will be riding in that general are during the
    following week, though.

Nah, I'm on daddy duty in Mrs B's absence. Hope it's OK for you Vern,
last weekend's Southport-Settle-Southport was a bit of a slow one for
me, got back to the HQ at 8.45pm. It was also storm cloud dark too, so I
had a lamp on for the last half hour. Oh, the ignomy of needing lights
    on a May 200!!!

I was going well up until 3km before Settle, then I met a lad having a
bad time and we hooked up together. It was his first event and I felt
pretty relaxed so hung about. We eventually met up with his mate, then
they got hit by a weath of punctures (worn tyres again, always worn
tyres..) Had a real nice ride, the route was stunning although there
were a fair few stiff climbs including one up and over Tatham Fell that
went on a bit... we had some weather too. Never mind though eh, it was a
good event. Lots of dead things, also (due to v slow speed up hills) I
managed to add a new creature to my roadkill zoo - I saw my first dead
    bee on the road...

Best of luck with your 200, I'm sure you will complete it with consumate
ease. I'll spare a though for you on Sunday evening.

    bfn,

    Tony B

I'm obviously aiming to avoid the cut and I am faster, lighter and fitter
than I was for the Oakham 160 - was it really 5-6 weeks ago since we rode
it? I'm taking lights as I fully expect to used the majority of the time
    allowance :-)

Cor, what sort of bee was it?....

I don't want to tempt fate and comment on the quality of finish. Last
Saturday's ride should have been a breeze until my LH crank went AWOL.

The scenery will be stunning if the rain and low clouds co-operate by
    staying away.

Its not, we have devised a DIY Perm based on the route.
