Since we're going to someone's house for dinner tomorrow, we had our holiday dinner tonight--duck
with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. Nothing overly fancy, but good.Cindy

Wow, Stace, you have a "Bailey" too! Our Bailey is 4 years old and checks in at ~15 pounds. He's a
silver leopard tabby. His "big" sister, Millie, is 11 years old and only weighs 7½ pounds.Wayne

Good doesn't have to be fancy. Sounds delicious! I'm doing Brussels sprouts and mashed tomorrow to
go with a wild turkey.Wayne

We're not having our Christmas until January. Your duck sounds delish! I'm frying chicken tomorrow
(first time in 20 years!) and making white gravy and biscuits to go along with, and some mac &
cheese. The "fancy" will be steamed spinach tossed with garlic & chopped walnuts sauteed in
butter. I can feel my arteries hardening already. I very rarely cook like this. It's a Southern
comfort meal.Merry Christmas!

Oh, I love Goldens! If I could have a dog, that's probably the breed I'd have. I can just picture
the Santa hat! <G>Wayne

A warm summer's day in Australia, so we did a cold buffet mainly. It's weird to read of heart-
warming, rib-sticking food 😉Smoked salmon and buffalo mozzerella and marinated prawns on the b-b-q, oysters au naturel, assorted
salads, cold glazed ham and cold chicken pieces adorned our table. Lots of wine and lots of laughs. All eaten al fresco in the courtward under the big market umbrella with the sun streaming down !
Merry Christmas !

Sounds wonderful!
That's usually our weather here in Arizona but, alas, it's presently cloudy, chilly, rainy, and
dreary. We had one of those rib-sticking holiday meals!Wayne

That's usually our weather here in Arizona but, alas, it's presently cloudy, chilly, rainy, and
dreary. We had one of those rib-sticking holiday meals! It's a popular thang here to sometimes do "Christmas in July", but mainly out at a restuarant with
friends/collegues etc, not generally at home. I understand it's pretty popular - a chance to get
Chrissy with all the traditional trimmings in the right season for such eats 😉 I've never done it,
but I have partaken in a traditional roasted meal in the height of summer - the older generation
generally like to 'do the right thing'. Still tastes good, but the kitchen will be sweltering and
you hope the hosts have a cool spot to sup, or A/C at least 😉--
If I can't be a good example, then I'll just have to be a horrible warning. -

little warm for sitting outside!Cold ham, turkey, chicken and pork. Green salad, potato salad, rice salad, Chinese cabbage salad,
various other bits and pieces - big platter of fresh fruit - lovely cherries.Way too much food as usual - leftovers for tea, and for lunch today (Boxing Day), and
tomorrow and ...A belated (I've not had time to sit at the computer) Merry Christmas to all - hope you had a lovely
time, lots of good company and good food.
