But......... on a sadder note....... I was driving home tonight and nearly
ran over 4 small kids wandering down a dark street dressed in ghosts
outfits.

Halloween is a *US* custom......... it's got nothing at all to do with
us!!! and yet, the same as rap [censored], different coloured bandanas (to
signify different 'gangs'😉, "fries", "cookies"........ and all the other
[censored] stuff........ it's insinuating itself into our culture :-/

Next thing you know, we'll be bloody celebrating Thanksgiving.

pffffffffft. I don't buy that. 3/4 of my family comes to this country in
the 20's, illiterate Italians, and since that time we've certainly
attained the "American Dream" to include education, financial and social
rewards and have contributed to some significant things in this country
since. I don't see my family as illiterate immigrants anymore. I
suspect the folks in Australia have long stopped thinking or identifying
themselves with criminals (and those that would oversee them) from long
ago and rest now on their own laurels, good and bad. And in every
country and people there is good AND bad.
