  1. I'm going to camp, signed up weeks
ago but I thought I was going all by my lonesome. Today, my ride partner
Brenda lets me know that she, her 14 year old daughter and a hot rider chick
from that is a friend of hers from is Sandpoint are going too!!!! She didn't
know I had the accomodations all lined up, so she did a happy dance too when
I told her we get to use my buddy's ski housein Rossland. It will be cozy,
    four
mountain biker chicks crammed into a 600 square foot house with one
bathroom... but we'll manage!! Heh, we're two blocks from the actual
location for the skills part, one block from the supermarket, next door to
two restaurants, across the street from the bar and there's a lockup room
for the bikes and a hose... what more do you need??!!

Sorry Penny, had to go for the easy laugh. You know I totally support
women's camps and rides. The last "Ride-Like-a-Girl" event here in Richmond
was very successful with 17 riders and is a quarterly event. Us guys will
be cooking (bar-b-que) for our "hot biker chicks" on the next one.

LOL, why apologize? I'm a big girl, this is AMB, I can take it. You'll just
have to suffer through tales of hot chicks on mountain bikes for weeks after
    camp, poor thing.

I don't get it. Why are you still paying someone to teach you how to ride?

    ride?

"still"?, or why go at all.

The first time I went, my riding improved over 100%, and it keeps going like
    that.
    It's fun. It's really fun. It's confidence building. It's inspiring. It's a
weekend away from my family and duties doing what I love the most. I'm the
lone mountain biking female with much of what I do, and to do spend a
weekend with 35 mountain biking women of all ages and abilities, to be
enveloped in it, is magnificent. Some women choose spa weekend, some choose
a shopping extravaganza at the Mall of the Americas, I choose bike camp.

With coaching and support, one chooses things they might never attempt on
their own, with ( I suspect) a higher rate of success.

I assume that if you have to ask, you don't get it. Our coaches say that the
ones who need it the most are the ones who think they have nothing to learn
and that they know it all already. Which is really too bad... there is
always something new to learn in every sport, whether you've been riding
for 10 years or skiing for 25. Finesse, a little trick that you helps you to
    move to the next level,

    Penny
