Big glass of water and an Excedrin, (the water is more important than the excedrin) and go back to bed for an hour or two. You'll feel a little better when you wake up again. Then eat a big greasy cheese burger or burrito.
Or if there are any Mexican ethnic markets nearby, go there and eat a big hot bowl of menudo. Don't ask what's in it.
Sheesh! Did you guys notice how many groups this was posted to???

Yeah, a hangover is God's way of telling you to back off on the booze a bit. LOL!
Crash drank semi-regularly up until about 4-5 years ago. We had a cockatiel who lived in Crash's computer room. Somehow she knew when he'd been drinking the night before. She squacked and squacked and he couldn't take it anymore. He wasn't getting rid of the bird, but he quit drinking. Now he might have a rum and coke once or twice a year.
Drink lots of water. Take some ibuprofen or other over the counter pain med. Then rest.
Ibuprofen causes liver damage. I heard it on the news. Also, I can't "rest," I've got stuff to do today. Any other ideas?

Oh, here we go. I didn't ask for a grandmotherly scolding. Besides, it's a little too late for that now.
Yes, I'm crossposting because I really don't know which group this post was really intended for. Best cure for a hangover is to just drink again. Drinking and grease. Mexican food or a cheeseburger. And I'm really not kidding.
[Multiple cross-posting addresses deleted] Best thing is a lot of plain water before you fall into bed the night before. Next best morning after thing is more water and an alka seltzer. After that -- not instead of it -- a mimosa is easier to take than a bloody mary. ymmv. -aem

Not when taken once in a while. So if you are scared of one or two ibuprofen, take aspirin or tylenol. Oh, and you do know that alcohol also causes liver damage.

By the way, alcohol also causes liver damage. BUT... it is helpful is small doses. (it seems you are in a state where stuff has to be repeated).
How ya doin' G. A hangover is generally caused with elevated sugar levels from the high concentration in the alchohol. As HCN points out lots of water. The stomach is vulnerable so stay away from wierd ass schemes (no fish shakes!). The alchohol also deprives the blood system of oxygen, hence the headaches lack of oxegen to the brain. Cure plenty of fresh cool air. Take a walk or a short swim in the ocean,(too much chlorine in pools). No milk, starch, greassy foods, sugar, coffee, tobbacco. Homemade turkey or chicken soup in a small amount helps. Hair of the dog might help quell the tremors but I still don't recommend it. Good luck pal.

My theory is if you never sober up you never get a hangover 🙂
PS. just kidding. The trick is to not over indulge but in the event you do chuck it up to a learning experience. Nice to see you trimmed the x-posting 🙂

But tylenol causes kidney damage. I read that somewhere. HTH :-)

Darn, I was about to high-five you, Patches! My trick is to never be sober. I wake up, pop open a beer and continue on with my day. As long as I take my milk thistle, my cranberry and my St. John's Wort, I'm good. Been doing it for, gosh, 15 years? Works for me!

Homemade turkey? You must be kidding. It takes *months* to make a turkey from scratch (and they are pretty noisy, which is not something one wants during a hangover.)
Start off by drinking a *lot* of water - before you fall onto the bed (if you can catch it). Once you are on the bed, and the room has stopped spinning, try to get some sleep. If you were foolish enough not to drink water before passing out, drink it when you become semi-conscious at about 4am, (the bathroom faucet will do) then try to go back to sleep.
If, and when, you wake up, drink some more water; greasy food is a must. Fatty bacon, fried eggs, baked beans... tomato juice works well too....
What has worked for me in the past was to take a nice dose of vitamin B-12 PRIOR to drinking, then using some sub-lingual B-12 the next morning. :-)
Twinlabs sells a product called "B-12 dots" that is cherry flavored. Stick about 3 of those under your tongue.
And yes, it works.
In the meantime, take a few Ibubrofen (about 4 of the 200 mg.) with a nice glass of warm milk, then climb into a slow hot shower. Sit down, relax and let the water run over your head until the ibuprofen has time to kick in.
Hope this helps!!!
Cheers! -- Om.
