Hi all, I am in the market for road handlebars for a new frame I am building up. I was at the bike shop when I saw the handlebars on this commuter bike with the shallowest drop I have seen.
Anyone have any experience with such a handlebar?
So far the handlebars I have had are described as anatomical ... how do these compare with the so-called classic bend bars?
I havenet tried the ritchey's but i can get a pair for you.
How are the wheel's going Thomas???
Thanks for the link, just checked out the link, wow that is an awesome looking set of bars, doubt I can afford it tho. Just want some basic aluminium ones.
The wheels are going well, the 105 hubs are very nice, I am glad I chose them and the DT swiss 14g spokes. Havent had to true them since building them 6 mths ago. Just thinking of a good rational reason for another wheelbuild, but the garage is running out of space.
Hi there, Do you know of any other "compact drop" bars?
On-one make one very *compact* drop bar and a copy of the Moustache bar too. I saw both their Mungo and Midge bars at Cheeky Transport the other day. The link: On-one handlebars
The drop bar I currently use is Nitto 115. Silver, smooth traditional shape... They're hard to find but Nitto still make them. Again, I got mine from Cheeky...
I actually had the Biomax before, but found all those lumpy ergo shapes *too much* if you understand... I definetly prefer the classic shape.
Hi George, Thats pretty costly just for mounting points.
I guess the thing that I am hoping to achieve with shallow drop bars, is a tad more comfort when riding in the drops. I actually have no complaints abt my current standard drop bars.
But I have just acquired a Colnago Master X Light frame, and thot that perhaps I might take this chance to add some comfort features.
Hey Cluster, So the biomax ergo bumbs didnt fit your hand? I actually like the classic handlebars, they look like they might fit my riding style well. How much of a drop are on the classic bars?

On my Nitto 115 the drop is 140 mm. Different models will have different drop.
