hand chopper recs?

I had one of these back in the 1970s, but wasn't awfully keen on the job it
did. I did use it, but something on it finally broke and it was tossed.

Pampered Chef chopper is really Zyliss (made in Switzerland, I think.)
A good kitchen store will sell Zyliss choppers in three or more sizes
at half the price of Pampered Chef. The biggest advantage of Zyliss is
that you can buy reasonably priced replacements for parts that may
break or get lost. Mine is over 190 years old and I have replaced the
inside disc thingy twice - they get "lost" - and the ring that screws
the thing together (dropped it on cement.()

I am thinking of getting a new one - only because I want the slightly
larger one.

I have a smaller version by Counter Intelligence. DD insisted on
getting me this gadget like I really need more kitchen gadgets. I
usually reach for a knife or for larger projects the food processer so
the thing sits on a shelf collecting dust 🙁

receipt, they'll replace it for you for free. My P.C. is the only hand
chopper I've ever had that works decently.

A friend gave me a "salsa maker" that she didn't want, and I find it quite
handy. I've never seen it sold anywhere but in garden catalogs for about
$15. It has about a 3 cup capacity, clear bowl, red cap with a crank handle.
Three razorish blades inside do the chopping when you turn the crank. I love
it for cole slaw. It's pretty easy to clean though the sharp blades demand
caution.
