I've broken both of mine, once on the road (clean break, on the wind trainer the next day, back on
the road after a few weeks) and once on the mountain bike (ugly break, many fragments, long time off
the bike).

The doc took one look at the X-rays and said, "Well, the good news is, if all the bone fragments
appear on the same piece of film, it'll eventually heal."

I had a grade III separation. As soon as the doc told me I couldn't damage it anymore, I was out on
a century the following weekend. Had to get some help to fix a flat though.

Didn't Simon ride about a week in the Tour maybe 15 years ago with a broken
collarbone before abandoning? OTOH, I think he was in yellow when it happened.
