  1. Manzano as quoted in ProCycling:

Asked about the recent blood doping cases that have hit the Phonak team,
Manzano commented: "These practices are taking place now. It's as easy to do
as buying a pair of socks in a supermarket."

We take it you've just had an addition to the family.

But only two people have been caught. Strange isn't it?

    Strange, no.

    1. The test has only just been introduced.
    2. Autologus transfusions are the probable norm for riders at the top and
there is no test for that but there will be soon.
    3. How many of the riders who decided to end their seasons just before the
Olympics were using detectable blood doping? I guess we'll never know. ;-)

Only two riders buy socks at the supermarket?

What's wrong about buying socks at the supermarket?

  7. Tom, maybe the two that have been caught are the only two that are
stupid enough to let themselves get caught. Others probably went for
safer methods like Epo or autologous transfusions.

None of the supermarkets I've been to around here sell socks. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong ones. I didn't see any socks when
I was in Spain either. :-)

Last time I found any at the supermarket they were shoved way at the
back of a shelf behind a bunch of bags of O-positive.
