Off there this weekend (awful, I know) and am toying with the idea of taking the bike.
I'm not checking any other luggage in, so I guess it's not too difficult to box the bike up and check it in.
Anyone whose been there; is it worth having a bike to get around? I'm not all that interested in the golf buggy transport options. Can't be arsed walking too much, either ;-)
Should I hire a bike instead? Most bike hire places I've seen - in various countries - all charge extortionate rates for really crappy bikes.
Only really planning to use it for house -> beach -> pub trips.

From my recollection the place isn't really big enough to make it worthwhile taking the bike. You can't walk that far uness you're off in the bush.
I'd leave the bike home and engage in some cross training...walking!

I'd agree with Stewart, most places that you'll want to get to are within walking distance from the resort, I seem to recall that the only facility that required transport to get to was the golf driving range. A walk to the lookout would make great exercise. Enjoy.

Unless you wanted to take a trip on the Fantasea Cruises ferry to Shute Harbour and ride to Airlie Beach etc, leave the bike at home.
