Do we know this for certain? I don't recall ever reading that

I'm amazed the blood type of the two riders has never been disclosed, along with the blood type associated with the minority component of each's positive blood sample.

It seems no brainer. A 2-way match could be fairly conclusive.

laudien i think was the first proponent of that theory. but the other
more likely possibility is simply that perez and hamilton were both
    using homologous transfusions.

    dumbass,

why do you INSIST on confusing doping cases with AMERICAN CRIMINAL
    TRIALS ?

IN A CRIMINAL CASE if this was the arguement the prosecution would
want to SEE that evidence. in a doping case the WADA code prohibits
    that kind of evidence gathering.

on the other hand like basso, he had the option to submit to
additional tests that could clear him.

if hamilton does have chimeric blood he will get popped again unless
he has a medical exemption for his condition.

Maybe it's just the fact that some nitwitted jackass in a referee costume
can take away a man's entire livlihood and ruin a reputation built on a
decade of very hard work on a whim and you're perfectly satisfied to parrot
whatever is said as if there's no doubt at all.

Well, I wasn't at the hearing so I probably have no right to comment BUT:

    http://tinyurl.com/8utpc

    OTOH, in this interview:
    http://www.cyclingnews.com/riders/2005/interviews/?id=tyler_hamilton05

Hamilton says something that sounds a lot like what you said ("examples we
provided while making our case"😉 but he then indicates that the
possibility of having a chimera should be enough to clear him when he
    says:

"I can never prove whether or not I had a twin in utero. No one can. And
USADA agreed that it is impossible to prove that someone is chimeric. It
was difficult to understand how USADA could argue, and the Panel could
accept, that it was somehow my burden to prove something (chimerism) that
USADA had agreed was impossible to prove. "

I recall numerous discussions about the burden of proof in these cases,
That seems to be Hamilton's point. But I can see how it could be
interpreted otherwise too. Especially if I was inclined to believe
Hamilton's guilt I could convince myself that Hamilton has resorted to a
    crazy, unprovable defense.

Crazy and unproven? Isn't the basis of the American justice system that you
have to prove guilt and not defend against assertion?

I might go a bit further than that and say that my own notions of
justice are firmly tied to the proposition that guilt must be proven by
the accusers. The bit about proving your own innocence feels unjust to me.

So, in a general sense I agree with you. In Hamilton's specific case, I
don't have a strong opinion about his guilt one way or the other. While
Hamilton is probably right when he says "it is impossible to prove that
someone is chimeric", repeated blood tests might prove that they are
not. I'm not aware of Hamilton ever submitting to that. You know that if
he ever rides a protour event it's going to happen. That would put a
truly non-chimeric Hamilton in the awkward position of HAVING to blood
dope in order to maintain his story of innocence.

Wing nuts are disreputable fasteners, and were properly replaced by
quick-release skewers in the only half-sensible application they ever
    had.

Everywhere else, they're saying "this item is too cheap to bother with
