Been reading online tonite that the bird flu has hit France & India now after last week being found in birds over in Greece & Germany last week.
A matter of time before it hits United States but just wondering if people here are cutting back on poultry consumption or have stopped buying chicken/turkey altogether even though no virus has hit here yet.
Going to grocery store soon and all this going ons is starting to give me second thoughts about buying fresh chicken plus being a diabetic I do fix a lot of chicken/turkey diabetic friendly recipes.

You seem confused. Avian influenza is spread by live animals, not dead ones in the grocery store.

H5N1 hit Italy as well last week. people dropped poultry comsumption by 70% Already 130.000 workers lost their job. It's just insane because H5N1 die when you cook., so there is no risk at all. I personally keep eating poultry and saving lot of money. You can get poultry almost for free.. once again: There is NO RISK for humans unless you get in phisical contact with an infected alive animal. Be smart and enjoy your chicken and dumplings..... Food poultry is raised different in this country, about 99% of it is not free range. Therefore the chances of one of them contacting an infected bird/droppings are very slim. Besides, you don't get it by eating prepared chicken.
Are you kidding? I am still worrying about teflon, Sars, ebola, swine flu, using my cell phone at gas stations, the wrong side of aluminum foil, aligators in my sewer, pop rocks and soda, tumors in my chicken sandwiches, alien chicken parts from KFC, and other such things.

No matter how you picture the spread, H5N1 is going to mutate. Maybe on the winter migrations south or the spring migrations north, it won't remain the H5N1 flu by itself for long.
Doctors will try to boast advance vaccines and governments with downplay the risks but they're just lost for answers. Like my boss said "There'll be no stopping it."
Enjoy your omelettes and don't worry about H5N1. It'll quite possibly take decades, but the pandemic will happen. No doubt about it!
