doesn't happen on 13 June.

Yes, I've seen Carol racing, and can nominate her as the person who most seemed to be out just to
avoid the ride.

I've also got a photo of Carol racing. It's one of the best photos I took that day, because it lacks
motion blur ;-)

According to Ye BHPC Newsletter, wot I have clutched in my sticky little paw, it's July 25th for
Castle Combe this year.

Hopefully it won't be *quite* as hot as last year, when my cycle computer fried....

We have about half a calendar at the moment, wot was published in the last Newsletter, but has not
made it onto the Interweb yet as, I imagine, Nice
Mr. Olson has not had the time or inclination so to do. gNick says that the rest will probably be
finalised in the next couple of weeks and given that the new! IMPROVED!! "So You Want To
Build..." v3.0 is finally ready to be despatched to the printers, there will probably be an
event list enclosed when that gets sent out to the membership.

I don't have a newsletter, not being a member. I intend to join this year and I've made a note that
the subscription starts on 1 April, so I shall join then.

I was a member for a year a few years ago - the main reason I joined was to get a copy of "So you
want to build an HPV". I enjoyed the newsletter, but since I was skint, still overdrawn from
university, nowhere near paying off my student loan and couldn't afford a recumbent I decided not to
bother renewing my membership for a while.

It may possibly be of interest that the first race this year is at the new Newport velodrome on
March 21st, which, if I've understood correctly is considerably nearer your abode than Manchester,
where the season has kicked off for the last couple of years.

The velodrome wibblesite is severely lacking in the map department though. :-(

Indeed it is. I'm not making any plans around then, though, as my wife is due to drop on 25 March.
If Newport's a regular feature of the BHPC calendar then that's one I could probably be bothered to
travel to most years.

This is the first year of going there because a) last year they were still building it and b) there
were problems getting a slot at Manchester.

I guess whether it becomes regular depends on how it goes this time and probably numerous other
things that I wot not of....

Anybody been there yet? Is it easy to find?

Pretty much the same for me although I do find my old one (6 vents) warm in winter and I went
without the newer one this summer when it was just too hot.

This is what I do - I wear my old and cheap helmet in winter since it's much less vented.

I do find even the very expensive Met Strad one that I have for summer too hot when going up big,
long hills though. So not a problem in Norfolk 🙂
