You guys seem to like various types of vids so thought I might try something a little different. I've never made a video of just random riding (group rides, training rides, etc), but thought I'd give it a shot.
A spirited group ride in Austin, Texas from last night. Not too hot, only 93F, 10 riders. First pack of ~5 break off on the first hammer hill.
I've only been road riding a bit over a year. Picked it up to help with training for MTB races, but now I've been bitten by the crit race bug and as such I've been focusing more and more on training on the road.
Thanks! Yeah, there's lots of little 'rollers' here around Austin. No really big sustained climbs. My biggest sustained climb is only about 300 ft over a little under 2 miles. You can still manage to get 100ft of climbing per mile if you pick your route appropriately.
Yeah, like Collin says...the amateur POV is way more advanced than what we get to see from the pro's.
Can you imagine seeing Contador's Watt specs, speed, heart rate, VAM, etc. in real time while on a split screen there's Cancellara's blood values, his helmet cam, handlebar cam and rear-view cam displaying other riders and GPS positioning in relation to the chase group and peloton? Listening to Cadel tallk to his DS or Froome scream at Wiggins to get his ass in gear would be cool.
Quote: Would be awesome for sure. The technology is there, I guess it's just a question of how much the pros are willing to share. The least as possible I am sure😉 LOL
