Grip shift on drop bars

Grip shift could be kinda weird in the drops. better, sleeker, slicker solution would be to go with bar-ends shifters. You could used indexed if you can match then to your drivetrain or make it real easy and go friction. It is dirt cheap and will give you a nicer looking profile.

Look at ebay internationally - you will, with a little patience, be able to pick up sti levers cheaply. Remember that Campy can be used on the left, and is desirable if you want to drive a mountain FD. Having used STI, I could never go back. Could you treat your rioad bike to a new pair, and put the old ones on your commuter?

I agree with artemidorus. I've picked up a spare pair of 105 shifters off eBay in excellent condition for less than $150AUD. Otherwise, you could get a set of Campy shifters new for $155 AUD from here -

Don't know if you'd want to spend that much for just the one shifter though.

I use 8+3 speed Grip Shifters on entry level tri bikes, on the ends of the aero bars. 😉 About $25 the pair.

Probably isn't going to work. Typical road handlebars are a skosh larger in diameter than flat bars. Grip shifters probably won't fit.
