I have been thinking on death all of my life. There are simply horrible
    ways
to die and there are not so bad ways to die. Without going into infinite
detail on the matter, I can say without any qualifications whatsoever that
is far better to die in your bed in your sleep of a heart attack or a
    stroke
than any other way to die.

nope better to die getting laid. what a way to go out.

Well, I think that would most likely be a heart attack or a stroke which is
not far removed from dying in your sleep. The main thing I am afraid of is
cancer. Most of those guys die slowly and in great agony.

I just checked some of Tom Sherman's posts in the archive. They're on
topic, whereas Mr. Dolan's generally are not. Even if Mr. Dolan manages to
exceed the number of T. Sherman's posts, Dolan's posts are immeasurably
    inferior. There's no contest!

Steve, I challenge you to go look up a thread from a couple of years ago
when Sherman and I were at loggerheads over the Iraq War. I think that
thread ran to over 500 posts. Sherman was a worthy adversary for me I will
admit, but I do not believe he ever got the best of me. In my own mind at
least I bested him. I bested him because my messages were far superior to
his in every way except on those rare occasions when I would go berserk from
the frustration of it all. To claim that his messages were superior to mine
is absurd. But both Sherman and I were writing for the newsgroup, something
that is seldom done here anymore - except by me of course.

Very many of Sherman's posts were nothing but sheer [censored]. Even when he was
on-topic very many of his posts were nothing but one liners, ever the
hallmark of an idiot. I have never been a one liner. I am prolix if nothing
else. I show respect and consideration for the reader by taking him into
account at all times. Every message of mine will run to at least a couple of
paragraphs. That is because I am trying to give the reader something
worthwhile to read. If you are into nothing but one liners, then you are not
giving the reader anything worthwhile at all. It is simply an act of self
indulgence, not to say self abuse.
