  1. It's so nice to listen to EuroSport commentary with Sean Kelly while
watching the limited OLN coverage muted.

Lucky dog. You found a way to do this.

Agreed, though it's taken me a couple of years to get used to Kelly's
accent enough to understand him. 🙂

I wish they'd let Anderson's wife talk more. She knows bike racing
    and has a vocabulary.

    "Roiderz", "bonch", "spees"... :-)))

BTW, how come Duffield is not in a comm.box anymore? Did I miss
something? Mike Smith took it over completely, it seems...

Duffield is in the British Eurosport studio with James somone doing a live
race discussion programme before and after each stage .
Mike Smith is supplying the pointless statistics from the Paris studio.
Dave Harmon and Sean Kelly are the live commentators with input from Cristie
    Anderson.

Didn't I read somewhere that Duffield has retired because of a heart
    condition?

    No not a heart condition.
He was quite ill a few years ago (2001?) and so missed his MC stint on the
Tour De Langkawi.-Mike Smith stood in for him.
He told me last year that he's all clear now, He certainly looks fit for
    someone of his age.

Wasn't he a champion trike racer in England?

It was cancer ("of the waterworks", he said). And yes, he still holds several
    troke records.

    change "troke" to "trike"!

  11. Well, despite the [censored] thrown at him by the goofs here, I think that he
does a pretty good job. Mind you that the best part of his job is
getting that laconic Kelly to say something in English, plainly enough
    to understand.
