Some time ago, after a ride in blustery conditions, I had to go to the
eye doctor to have a tiny speck of metal removed from my eye.
Fortunately it caused little damage and my eye was back to normal
within a week.
Since then I've tried to find some good, wrap-around sunglasses that
really protect the eyes while cycling. I've had little luck either at
the optometrist or at local bike shops. The typical cycling glasses
wrap around somewhat, but not enough for my purposes.
I've got a pair of lab safety glasses, but they don't offer as much
protection against wind/dust as you might think. They also don't fit
under my helmet very well. I've got swimming goggles that might work,
but they're too tight to be comfortable and the lenses aren't shaded.
Can anyone recommend sunglasses that offer good wind/dust protection?
I don't care if they look dorky (hey, if George Hincapie can wear
'em...). I just want to save my eyes.
