  1. I'm about to move to England. Will be stationed at Mildenhall Air Base,
which is about 1 hour north of London (I think). I ran my first marathon on
Sunday in Napa Valley, and I've got the bug big time. I'd like to run
another marathon in the Fall, followed by London next April.

Any suggestions for a Fall marathon in the UK? Or even somewhere else in
    Europe?

    Thanks - Mike

There's so many of them out there in the Fall.
    Take your pick:
Berlin, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Venice, Athens, Lisbon,,,

    Also, try asking in uk.rec.running.

For the UK check out this link on Runners World UK
    http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/news/article.asp?UAN=1773

My wife was in LOndon recently and brought me back a copy of
the latest Runners World UK mag. IIRC it had an article on
UK marathons with ratings, so let me know if you want me to
    check it out.

    Have a look at http://www.interlog.com/~jedward/marathon.html#British

From personal experience I can recommend the Loch Ness marathon (2nd
October) if you can get up to Inverness. If you fancy going to Amsterdam,
theirs is on the 17th of October.

  6. With the current world situation, shouldn't you be seeking info on
marathons in Iraq, or Iran? Or, has Bush decided to attack Great
    Britain while he's at it?

thanks for the geography lesson 🙂

kidding, i think that's a great point. when you're in the UK you're not
limited to the UK since you're so close to "Olde Europe"

  8. Thanks all for the great info. I thought about Berlin...good point about
the close proximity of so many countries. Loch Ness might be a good choice.
Any feedback on Robin Hood? Appreciate the UK Runner's World link.

And no, I don't think I need to find a marathon in Iraq. Already done that,
so I think I'm safe for a while.
