I'm going to be in Ottawa either next Sunday or the one
after that to set up a new server. Can anyone suggest a good
route not too far from Bell's Corners? I'd like to do around
ten miles.
Thanks. Mike Lazenby

Au contraire! There are many many good places to run in
Ottawa, though Bell's Corners is not considered the mecca
for running. (Errr, in my opinion. People that live in
that area may have better "inside info" about good routes
in the area.)
Most people here do their long scenic runs along the
parkways and paths adjacent to the Rideau Canal, the
Ottawa River, the Rideau River, the bridges to Hull, and
all that. Bliss!
In addition to the links that others have sent, here is a
link for a local running club -- the National Capital
Runners Association: ncra-ottawa.comncra-ottawa.comOpen ↗
If you check the "running links" link on their home page,
you will find maps etc. of routes in different parts of the
city and distances and all that. There is also a posting of
most of the local events, in case you happen to be looking
for a race or whatever while you are here. Oh, and most of
the local running stores (Running Room
(www.runningroom.com) , Motionware, Bushtukah
(www.bushtukah.com), etc. have regular organized free group
runs ... LSD, hills, intervals, whatever.
Hope that helps,
db, in Ottawa, but nowhere near Bell's Corners
Thank you. This was very helpful. I'm on a pretty tight
schedule so I won't have time to travel far to a nice route.
I may even have to find a hotel with a treadmill 8?(

hey, if you are in Bells Corners, depending on where you are
located, there ARE some trails out there. if you are near
Moodie Dr., go up toward the big Nortel location at Carling.
i hear from fellow runners that there are paths around the
campus there. also, if you just pop across Carling, you're
at the Ottawa River, where a lengthy path follows the river
for miles. i used to do long runs along that one.
and if you are south of Robertson Rd, i think there
are trails or paths of some kind in the wooded areas.
seek them out!
hope this helps,
Cam
Beautiful! Thanks!
