LX levers (BL M585)
LX Disc Hubs (FH M585)
LX hydraulic hose (SM-BH59)

The whole lot (including postage) was US$270 which is about AU$350 or so at
current exchange of around $0.78.

They were very helpful (I actually enquired and then bought direct through
pay pal (ie. not off of ebay)) and even put an invoice on the package saying
that the total was AU$240 so that I wouldn't have to pay GST or customs
duty. They were sent last Thursday and I got them today!!!

Now all I have to do is wait for the Rhyno XLs to arrive and then get them
laced up........can't wait.

Check the customs duty before you buy o/seas next time as I beleive that
the allowance has increased to quite a lot from the 1st march, I don't know
if that's only for those who'll just bring stuff back to the airport or if
it affects the entire system. I think the personal allowance is around
AU$900 now each.

Even alcahol allowances have doubled.

Don't know exactly what it is but I believe it depends on whether your
purchase comes via post or via couriers. I think all courier dliveries get
checked. Recently I bought a full set of Ortlieb panniers from Germany,
totalling $A370 with no GST r duty applied.

I'm from s'pore and it's the 1st time I've heard of such a place. Seems like they're an internet store only. Couldn't find a mailing address.

I sorta miss the cheap bike parts back home. When I was back there, you could get a complete XTR groupo with hubs (disc version & hollowtech II) for S$1700 which probably comes to about AUS$1450 with today's excghange rate. Most times, I didn't pay for service or installation either coz if you bought their stuff, they'd do the labour for free even a couple of months after the fact.

Road stuff is more pricey though as there isn't much of a road riding culture, so that stuff comes at a premium.

Awesome, im actually contemplating upgrading my 2000 stumpjumper to disc brakes I know it has the mounts, but if I want to attach disc brakes (hydraulic) I would basically need to purchase the same components as yourself correct ?

hubs, brakes/rotors, levers, hose (???)

I got a quote yesterday from a bike shop > $550 for juicy brand or something like that
kind of baulked at that price, but that price is looking much more reasonable.

last week i bought a guitar amp for $1245us from ebay..should be getting
shipped as i type🙂
according to customs, because the amp is made in the usa, there is no
customs duty, only gst..
we'll see when it arrives i guess🙁
when i mentioned the purchase to the wife, she gave the look of death and
said "riiiiight" and walked out of the room

also one of the guys at work and i went and bought some stuff from
probikekit.com
got 4 michelin pro race tyres for $37au each, a selle italia pro link
transam for $88au, a chain, jockey wheels etc..
their packaging is a bit suspect though..it all arrived in a blue plastic
bag, not much protection...
